The Connecticut Summer Opera Foundation (CSOF) is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is two-fold: to advance the careers of conservatory-trained operatic vocalists by offering a summer residency in vocal performance in the beautiful Litchfield Hills, and to bring opera to young adults, exposing the next generation of concert-goers to the art form.
The September 8th "Litchfield Hills Food, Wine and Opera Gala-A Musical Feast!" was a huge success! It was a great night of food, wine and operatic song in our lovely community, and a springboard for future vocal music initiatives to grow the Connecticut Summer Opera Foundation. Thank you to the hard-working Gala Committee, and to all one hundred eighty of you who came to the event! www.amusicalvision.blogspot.com
Carole Peck of Good News Cafe, Tom Gould of Brass City Bistro, Jerry Reveron of Woodward House and Taft, and Denis Niez of Ovens of France curated a spectacular farm-to-table dinner with paired wines . An uplifting hour-long recital of opera arias by four stellar vocalists from NYC's acclaimed Opera Company of Brooklyn concluded
the evening.
The mission of CSOF is to support a summer residency for two conservatory-trained operatic vocalists to hone their skills under a mentorship program with leading opera coaches and professionals. CSOF will also engage in educational outreach by performing operatic highlight programs to area grade schools and middle schools, thus introducing this sublime art form to the next generation of concert-goers.
Please join us in CSOF to enhance our mission.
Please help bring life to the arts and the arts to life !
